The Science of Gratitude & Why it ACTUALLY Works

Gratitude isn’t JUST good for your soul (which it totally is) it also has tangible, scientifically proven benefits for your human body:

Studies from leading institutions have shown that practicing gratitude can lower blood pressure, improve immune function, and facilitate more efficient sleep.

But let’s talk about what it does to our brain (yes this will lead to manifest, be patient!)

When we express gratitude, our brain releases dopamine and serotonin—two crucial neurotransmitters responsible for our emotions, and they make us feel GOOOOOOD.

Quick breakdown of serotonin:

Its biological function is complex, touching on diverse functions including mood, cognition, reward, learning, memory

Mood: Serotonin is a natural mood booster that affects happiness, wellbeing, and pain. Low serotonin levels are linked to depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders.

Learning and memory: Serotonin influences learning, memory, and executive function

Mood, reward, memory… all are valuable for your business and your manifestation process

Hey Dopamine! Welcome…

Let’s break it down too:

Dopamine acts on areas of the brain to give you feelings of pleasure, satisfaction and motivation.

Reward: Dopamine is released when you do something pleasurable or beneficial, and is associated with feelings of satisfaction and motivation

Pleasure, satisfaction and motivation… also sounds valuable for your manifestation journey.

More Gratitude Research

Researchers at the University of California have found that gratitude changes the neural structures in the brain, making us feel happier and more content.

So, the structures in your brain PHYSICALLY change when you are in a state of gratitude.

And from the little I know about neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to adapt and change) the more you use a certain pathway, the stronger that pathway will become and the more likely it will become the default programming.

So even if at first it is hard to feel gratitude or to think of things to be grateful for, the more you practice, the easier it will become, and also, the more of a baseline response it will become.

The goal is to get your default programming aligned with feeling gratitude for both the things that you have and the things that you wish to manifest as if they were already yours now.

And here’s another interesting tidbit—gratitude can actually reduce stress and anxiety by regulating the stress hormones in our bodies. This is amazing for us entrepreneur ladies, where stress levels can really peak, impacting both our health and the health of the businesses we birth.

Gratitude For Your Spiritual Businesses

Gratitude is going to be one of your new superpowers in your soul~led business for THREE major reasons:

Reason One:

The science of what it actually does to your body and mind (that we just covered) helping you become a version of yourself that is ready to handle more success, more wealth and more influence.

Reason Two:

It is going to help you appreciate what you already have and where you already are in your business (and your one beautiful life) so that you can start falling in love with the journey of doing the work of your soul…

You romanticize the f✨ck out of your life & busines, like you are in love with your current blessing and in a deep state appreciation for your future manifestations.

Instead of committing to the hustle life, always unsatisfied because you never spent the time training yourself to love what you have, so you always strive for more…But without gratitude that “more” is never enough.

Reason Three:

Gratitude is one of your major manifestation tools, which leads me to your next section…

Gratitude as a Tool for Manifestation

“To manifest whatever it is you are wanting to manifest, you speak to it as if it has already happened.” This is a quote from one of Jennifer Aniston‘s Popular clips I remember seeing on a youtube short…

And it sums up how I use gratitude in my manifestation process and how I want you to use it in yours.

If you want to speed up the manifestation process the biggest “hack” is to FEEL and embody the energy of the woman who ALREADY has it.

Because when we can believe we are capable of achieving or obtaining something it is easier to get our energy and action behind it and make it actually happen.

Our mind doesn’t know the difference between what is real or imaginary, so if you can start believing the thing that you desire is already yours and tap into gratitude for it… your brain will think it IS yours.

The manifestation game changes when the veil between what could be yours and what WILL be yours is torn the f*ck down.

Being grateful for the things you currently have and everything that is on its way to you right now also feels so good and juicy for the nervous system… it takes some of the pressure of the unknown off our shoulders.
